Neil Pregozen, M.Ac., Lic. Ac.


Neil has been a student of natural healing and Eastern traditions for over thirty years. He received his Master of Acupuncture Degree in 1997 from Tai Sophia Institute (now Maryland University of Integrative Health), where he has served as a clinical supervisor in the Chinese Herbal Medicine Certificate program. While in Maryland, he also served as an acupuncturist and clinical supervisor in acupuncture-based addiction recovery programs. 

As a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Massachusetts, he holds Diplomate status with the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine). Neil has also completed a 2½-year training program in Chinese Herbal Medicine with Ted Kaptchuk, O.M.D. (author of The Web that Has No Weaver), as well as the Toyohari (Japanese non-insertive style) acupuncture training. Additionally, he continues to study with some of the foremost teachers in the vast field of Asian Medicine including Jeffrey Yuen, Alex Tiberi, Giovanni Maciocia, Jake Fratkin, and Vasant Lad. Prior to practicing in Amherst, he maintained a private practice in the beautiful Berkshires.

Previous to his acupuncture studies, Neil was an orchestral percussionist, having received his Bachelors of Music Degree, cum laude from Boston University and his Master of Music Degree from Yale School of Music. He has performed with orchestras and ensembles throughout Connecticut including the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. In his spare time he enjoys music-making, hiking, and spending time in nature.
